News - UniBond Premier League - Monday 26th October 2009


 

The UniBond League has given the club new dates for two fixtures. The postponed home match against Bradford Park Avenue has been re-scheduled for Saturday 28th November. Meanwhile, the away match at Kendal Town has been re-arranged for Tuesday 17th November.

Leek Town of the UniBond First Division South are visitors on Saturday (31st October) in the Second Qualifying Round of the FA Trophy (kick off:3pm).
There will be no extra time - if the match is drawn the replay will be at Leek on Tuesday 3rd November (kick off 7.45pm).

Meanwhile, the Weaver Stadium hosts the Barclays Premier League Reserve Division South fixture between Stoke City Reserves and Chelsea Reserves on Monday 2nd November. There is a lot of local interest with former Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Holland in charge of Chelsea Reserves. Dave Kitson, Danny Higginbottom, Mamady Sidibe, Steve Simonson and Andy Griffin were amongst the first team players who featured for Stoke Reserves in their last Reserve game at The Weaver Stadium.
The match kicks off at 7.05pm and is being televised live on Chelsea TV. Admission is £3 adults, £1 concessions, free admission for Stoke City season ticket holders.

Nantwich Town FC is delighted to host this Barclays Premier League Reserve Division South match at the Weaver Stadium. Kick Off is at 7pm. Stoke are likely to include 29-year-old Mali international Mamady Sidibe. The striker has been out of action since rupturing the cruciate ligament in his left knee in March.

Admission to Stoke City reserve matches is £3 (adults) and £1 (children & senior citizens).

Head coach Peter Hall watched Retford score an early goal in midweek and hold on to take maximum points away at Matlock Town. Retford are enjoying a good start to their inaugural season in the UniBond Premier Division and currently sport the second best defensive record behind Boston United.
