NANTWICH TOWN FOOTBALL CLUB have been advised by the club’s football liaison officer, Sergeant Carl Capewell, that the police do not wish the above fixture to go ahead on Good Friday,10th April. The background to the decision is based purely on police resources given that the town of Nantwich are host to a Jazz Festival that commences on Good Friday and doesn’t conclude until Easter Monday. There is a history of good relations’ between the two clubs, and their respective supporters but the police estimate of an additional 30 – 50,000 visitors expected in the town over the Easter weekend leaves them with insufficient resources to ensure safety at the Weaver Stadium, and in the town centre. The matter has been referred back to the UniBond League in order that a new date can be arranged whilst both Nantwich and FC United officials are also liaising on the matter.

A very Happy 10th Birthday to Sean Davis, from Haydn Jones Drive in Nantwich. Sean is a big Nantwich Town fan and it was his birthday on Wednesday (7th). His favourite player is Danny Griggs and he was going to be cheering on the Dabbers this afternoon with his Dad, Grant, and a number of his friends. Sean attends Pear Tree Primary School in Stapeley and he likes coming along to the Weaver Stadium because there’s always a good atmosphere and everyone has fun.

Sean was to be featured in today’s' match day programme and to make up for his disappointment we have added his photo here and he will be featured in the next home programme.
