NANTWICH TOWN SIGN HIGHLY RATED GOALKEEPER
Nantwich Town head coach Peter Hall has used his contacts to good effect by securing the services of 19 year old Port Vale first team squad goalkeeper Daniel Lloyd-Weston in time for Tuesday’s league game away at Burscough. The former West Bromwich Albion trainee is highly rated at the league two club and has been pushing hard for a first team start for some time. However, he is in competition with current No.1 Chris Martin and with Joe Anyon available again following injury his manager Micky Adams is very keen for his young protégé to gain further experience, albeit at semi-pro level. In recent times, Lloyd-Weston has attracted interest from Manchester United with the Barclays Premier League club believed keen to retain him on their radar. The loan period is for 28 day’s and the registration was lodged with the FA and the UniBond League earlier today.
NEWS - BEN CHAPMAN - Monday 15th February 2010
BEN CHAPMAN
Nantwich Town Football Club is pleased to announce that their young goalkeeper Ben Chapman was not hospitalized as a result of a first half incident during Saturday’s game against Frickley Athletic. Despite the nasty looking goalmouth incident a medical examination fortunately has revealed no breakages to any bones in his neck or shoulders. However, the muscles in those areas are extremely stiff and sore thus ruling him out of action for the time being. Meanwhile, head coach Peter Hall is conducting negotiations with a league club in respect of securing cover whilst Chapman recovers from his ordeal. Nantwich are in league action at Burscough (Tuesday 16th February) and Hall is confident of signing a replacement in time for the match.

News -UniBond League Premier Division - Nantwich Town release players - Friday 12th February 2010
Nantwich Town release players
NANTWICH TOWN head coach Peter Hall has taken action this week by releasing four players from his underachieving squad. The most notable is the release of No.1 goalkeeper Lee Jones. Following Jones out of the Weaver Stadium are striker Andy Kinsey, midfielder Jed Murphy and defender Charlie Reeves. Meanwhile, Nantwich will turn to Ben Chapman to don the No.1 shirt against Frickley Athletic at the Weaver Stadium (tomorrow 3pm). Chapman has been understudy to departed goalkeeper Jones for some time now and the ‘Dabbers’ head coach feels confident that the youngster has the qualities take over the role and be the first name on the team sheet on a regular basis.
The club wishes to place on record their sincere thanks to the departing players for their contributions whilst at Nantwich Town and wish them all the very best for the future.

Nantwich added to their defensive options this week with the signing of 18 year old Crewe Alexandra Second Year Scholar Harry Davis on work experience terms. Davis has been named in the Crewe first team squad on several occasions this season commencing in the League Cup back on the 11th of August 2009 against Blackpool. He is no stranger to the Weaver Stadium having been a regular visitor during his father’s time as head coach before Davis senior left to become assistant manager at Crewe Alexandra. Meanwhile, Nantwich lose the services of defender Richie Sutton for five matches commencing this weekend against FC United. Sutton has been given a five match ban reflecting the former Crewe Alexandra defender’s three dismissals so far this season.
FC United’s midweek home league game against Ashton United was a late postponement thus denying the ‘Reds’ the opportunity for a win which would have elevated them from 15th and thus squeezed Nantwich out of their current mid table position. However, going into the weekend, two points remains the divide between the two clubs and so a keen contest looks to be in prospect at the Weaver Stadium where officials are hoping for an attendance in excess of 1,000 supporters.
