Nantwich Town Football Club: New Stadium - Kingsley Fields
STADIUM PROGRESS 8/09/2006
Work is progressing well on the new Kingsley Fields stadium. Bossons, the
main contractors for the project, started work on 22nd August.

New car park area
The first
task was to shift a huge quantity of earth and then level the site of the
South car park
which will be approached by an access road off the new
Nantwich link road. A small water course divides the car park which will be
joined by a bridge.

The main stand, dressing rooms, clubhouse and function
facilities will be at the top of the North car park and will be similar in
design to the one at Curzon Ashton's new Tameside Stadium. Beyond the main
pitch, at the top of the site, will be a separate floodlit
'third-generation' synthetic pitch available for community use.

The grant is testament to the hard work put in by the club and their dedication to putting something back into the community they serve. I would like pay particular tribute to the invaluable help of the County FA, the local football partnership and everyone who helped in the success of this scheme.”

Cheshire County FA Chief Executive, Maureen Dunford, congratulated Nantwich Town: “The new 3rd Generation pitch is a modern innovation which will enable the Club to run a full programme of activities for all ages and abilities. Without the tremendous support of the Football Foundation the area would not have such a wonderful opportunity to build these much needed facilities. This project will be of great benefit to people in the south of the County and demonstrates the commitment of the Nantwich Town FC to work with the The FA and Cheshire County FA to ensure the new facilities increase participation and provide a focal point for football in the local community. We are particularly encouraged by the appointment of a Football Development Officer which has ensured the local community and schools receive a co-ordinated approach to playing and coaching. I would like to pay tribute to the work of our County Development Manager, John Ackerley, The FA’s Regional Facility Manager, Eamonn Farrell and Crewe and Nantwich Borough Council, Nantwich Town Council who have worked tirelessly with the Club to bring this project to fruition. The work of volunteers connected with Nantwich Town FC is a clear demonstration of their dedication to bringing this investment to Crewe and Nantwich.”
Nantwich Town Chairman, Clive Jackson said “We have worked very hard over a number of years at the club to develop the infrastructure to support our football development plan the final stage of this was the was to provide facilties for the use of our own sides and the community in general, this would never have been possible with out support and funding from the “The Football Foundation”(£959,999) and the other contributors to the project who are Nantwich Town council (£100,000) and Crewe & Nantwich Borough Council (£60,000).
